I'm having a major issue with my Nintendo DS Lite.?

It's almost a year old now, but I can't see ae affecting it so soon. My wireless connection seems to be fried for three separate occasions now, in the game "Nintendogs" I can't connect with bark mode (the feature that allows connection to other DSs) and now in Pokemon Pearl, the start up screen says "Communication Error" and tells me I'll go back to my last saved location but it goes white and the light blinks as if I'm connected wireless-ly. I'm going berserk because I can't play the darn game and I don't want to buy a new DS (I like my old one!) their website doesn't answer my question so hopefully someone here can. Thanks a million and one.
