Race and intelligence?

My first year anthropology textbooks says that there is no correlation between race and intelligence - but I'm not sure what to think when it is contrasted by people like J. P. Rushton - I am searching for evidence that Rushton is a charlatan but I don't know whether anyone can confirm for me that this "Race vs Intelligence" stuff is baloney or not.
